Boots have made a 3 year commitment to supporting the work of Macmillan Cancer Support. As part of this Charity Partnership, volunteers from Boots Team Challenges have organised a number of events to support the work of Spiral. The activities have included organising Spiral's Birthday Party, creating a 'splat wall' and creating a relaxing outdoor space for children and families to enjoy.
ANTS (A Nice Time on Saturdays) is a student-led group of volunteers committed to helping children who have suffered bereavement. They are based at Nottingham Trent University, and run activity days once a month during University term time (November to May) for children aged 8-11 years. The activity days provide children with an opportunity to meet others of their own age experiencing similar emotions. The days are designed to allow the children to express themselves, build in confidence and make friends. Trips so far have included: Lazer Quest, Farm, Pantomime and rock climbing.
Spiral's Volunteer Programme is made possible thanks to funding by The Big Lottery Fund.
