Do you have valuable experience to bring to Family Care’s board of Trustees?
Trustees are vital to the success of Family Care. They are volunteers, responsible for controlling the management and administration of the organisation to ensure it is run effectively, efficiently and within legal and regulatory requirements.
Family Care positively shapes children’s futures through its adoption services and emotional support to children and young people. Could you work with the team of Trustees to ensure Family Care’s future vision is planned and achieved?
As a Trustee you would also have a role as a guardian of Family Care assets taking due care over their security, deployment and proper allocation.
To fulfil this role you would be expected to attend quarterly meetings of the Board of Trustees (normally held late afternoons / early evenings), and attend additional training and development days as required (usually one per year). You would be expected to be an ambassador for Family Care, promoting Family Care initiatives within the community we serve.
We welcome applications from people who:
- Support the values and aims of Family Care
- Have relevant transferable skills that they are willing to use to benefit Family Care
- Are enthusiastic
- Can demonstrate a strong personal commitment to supporting and developing the work of Family Care
- Have strong communication skills
- Have the ability to contribute to effective practice within a team environment
- A sympathy with the values of the Christian Faith
As part of our Trustee recruitment we are also looking for a to recruit a qualified accountant who, in addition to the above, would be willing to advise and guide regarding our financial strategy, policies and procedures. In addition to calling on you from time-to-time to provide guidance to the Chief Executive and Finance Manager re financial issues you would play a key role in our Financial Subgroup (quarterly).
In return we offer you an interesting opportunity, within a supportive team committed to making a difference to local children and families.
